The wooden disc upon which the slate top rests had a gold leaf edge that is gone and will be replaced shortly.
The table is in good vintage condition,
Because the table was stored for 30 years in a seaside summer house and garage the slate shows little if any wear.
There is is a small dark area on the edge that I don’t understand. It’s not a discernable patch and I don’t see any thin lines so I assume that it is an anomly in the slate.
The base has been recoated with a clear coat as recommended by Dorsey Reading who has provided insight and a certificate of authenticity as well.
His assistance in how to properly handle the table is much appreciated.
