this is just a great original piece. From a local estate, I recently acquired a bunch of cape cod, nantucket, and martha’s vineyard items. I will be listing them over the next couple of weeks. Some really great pieces of art and ephemera that are a must have for any collector. This is one of my favorite things I purchased. This is a wonderful original hand painted boston and cape cod real estate sign. Based on the style, condition, and paint, I would guess that it dates to around the 1930s. Henry w savage is an interesting character in both boston real estate as well as show business. He started as an owner of a real estate business and then went into broadway show production. Google him and you can read his whole history. This is a wonderful painted breadboard sign measuring 23 1/2 x 36 1/4 inches. It is made of 5 or 6 horizontal boards and are held together with the 2 end pieces. You can see the center boards have shrunk with time as the end pieces extend a little beyond the original size. All original paint with the black background and grey or silver lettering. Just an outstanding original sign. Great history and great locations.
