This yellow/peach octagon tile was made by the Franklin Tile Company. There is a stamp on the back of the tile. We do not have the “square dots” that were in between the octagon tiles. This tile has a matte finish to the glaze.

The Franklin Tile Company merged with the American Encaustic Tile Company in the late 1930″s and eventually became American Olean. Designs from each company continued to be in production and can be found with different marks depending on what year it was made.

This box cap trim tile was made by the Mosaic Tile Company. This style is a box cap, which is usually used at the top of a short wall of tile, like a chair rail. It is a beautiful lavender/pink color. This lavender/pink tile most closely matches Mosaic Tile Co.’s “Rose Lavender” color to our staff, but we cannot guarantee that is the exact color.

The Mosaic Tile Company was incorporated in Zanesville, Ohio in 1894. They specialized in octagonal, hexagonal, and square floor tiles as well as artistic tile murals. They later specialized in vitreous and semi-vitreous floor tile. The company was open for 73 years and was dissolved in 1967.

Antique Matte Black Franklin Tile Company Porcelain 4″ x 4″ Floor Or Wall Tile

This is a square, ceramic wall or floor tile, most likely made by the Franklin Tile Company. There is no stamp by a manufacturer, but it is very similar to other tiles made by them and even the design on the back is the same. This tile has a matte finish. There are many little scratches on the front.
