Vintage Design
A fine set of 8 Georgian Hepplewhite style carved mahogany shield back dining chairs of good color and condition. They feature serpentine fronts and drop-in upholstered seats, providing comfortable seating. This quality set consists of 2 armchairs and 6 dining chairs, dating from the early 19th century, and displays a desirable aged patina throughout. The shield backs have shaped arched backs, carved pierced vase splats, and acanthus leaf detailing. All chairs are raised upon square section reeded front legs, gently splayed rear legs, and united by an H-stretcher. England, circa 1830. The seat height is 46 cm.
